ISLAMABAD: The government has passed a bill in the parliament to use electronic voting machine and give voting rights to overseas Pakistanis.
According to details, a joint sitting of the Parliament was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker National Assembly. During the session, there was a heated exchange between the government and opposition members, and slogans were chanted by the opposition in the Parliament House. ۔
Clause-wise approval of the Electoral Reforms Amendment Bill continued in the House.
Babar Awan introduced an amendment to use electronic voting machines, after which the government’s Election Amendment Bill 2021 was passed regarding changes in the electoral system.
Parliament passed a bill to use the government’s electronic voting machine and to give overseas Pakistanis the right to vote.
In addition, the International Court of Justice Review Bill 2021, Muslim Family Laws Amendment Bill 2021, and National College of Arts Institute Bill 2021 were also passed by the joint session.
Government MPs, including the Prime Minister, rang the desk while the opposition tore up copies and boycotted the proceedings of the House.
